In this document, I will be discussing how we have been following the codes and conventions of the genre our radio show falls under. This is important because any radio show has a specific kind of structure to meet the expectations of the audience. The radio station that Ellie and I are recording is about the city Doncaster and what things you can do there, and what celebrities used to or currently live around there.

Adhering to these codes and conventions would be essential for maintaining a professional image. Capital Radio is a well-known and respected radio station, and they have certain standards that are expected of their presenters and producers. By following these codes and conventions, the station can maintain a consistent brand image and provide a high-quality listening experience for their audience.

Following the codes and conventions of radio stations helps to ensure that the content being broadcast is appropriate for the audience. Capital Radio has a diverse listener base, and it is important to consider the needs and interests of all listeners. This means avoiding offensive language or topics that might be inappropriate for certain age groups or cultural backgrounds. In terms of the radio show we will be making, we need to ensure that the audience would likely have an interest of coming to Doncaster, or lives in the area.

In our radio show, we will have to ensure that nothing we say could be slanderous towards anyone who we talk about. We will also have to make sure any of the sounds or music we may use is royalty free to avoid copyright.

Our radio show will also be including an advert. This would be included as a way for the show to earn income. The advert we will be including is for a Google Pixel 7 Pro, which links to the idea of celebrity spotting (a very small segment in the show) as the camera on the phone is supposedly really good.
